Accunet Solutions was founded in Boston by Alan Dumas in 1997 after recognizing the need in the marketplace for an Integrator that was focused more on solutions and customer service than on simply “moving equipment". From the very beginning, the guiding principle for the Company was to forge true partnerships with clients and to nurture those relationships by consistently delivering strategic value.
Vendors he dealt with typically provided the necessary manpower for implementations, but they weren’t truly strategic partners. They rarely looked beyond the immediate project and offered little help to him in formulating longer-term IT strategies. Alan knew that customers wanted that longer-term, more insightful IT consulting – along with great tactical implementation services. He saw the opportunity to fill that strategic IT consulting gap and deliver measurable business value to customers on an ongoing basis. Alan formed Accunet Solutions to meet this need.
Given Alan’s area of expertise, the Company first focused on designing and implementing network infrastructures for medium- to large-sized enterprises. Leveraging Alan’s solid reputation and his large network of industry contacts, Accunet Solutions quickly won significant customers such as Data General Corporation, Raytheon, Mass Mutual Life Insurance, The Gillette Company and others.
Since 1997, Accunet Solutions has grown steadily in size and scope. In 1999, the company opened its second office in Morristown, NJ, in order to have its consultants, service professionals and sales people closer to customers in New York and northern New Jersey. The Company also has grown its roster of strategic partners, adding premier technology companies like Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks, F5 and Symantec. Accunet also has partnered with less well-known but innovative and successful technology companies such Isilon Systems, Riverbed, and Coradiant.
